News from Sandy Bay Sailing Club
We have training programs available for all ages and stages of sailor. Sandy Bay Sailing Club is an accredited Yachting Australia Training Centre.

New Sponsor - Harcourts
 
The 2008/09 Learn to Sail program is proudly sponsored by Harcourts Real Estate. The first stage of the program commences with the “Come and Try Sailing” program on 18 and 19 September. Registration details will be available shortly for this event. Learn to Sail will continue throughout the season with a range of programs run by qualified instructors. Harcourts is committed to supporting the introduction of children to sailing and assisting with their development through the learn to sail program.
 
 
National Marine Safety Council Boating Survey
 
Please see the attached documents relating to a survey of boating useage from the National Marine and Safety Council. The NMSC are seeking volunteers to keep a diary of their boating activities for a period of 18 months. NMSC are offering some valuable prizes to encourage participation.
 
 
Working Bee 31 August
 
There will be a general working bee to prepare for the coming season this Sunday, 31 August, starting at 0900. Please come preared for general clean-up work including cleaning the kitchen, sweeping change rooms, cleaning roof gutters, etc.
 
 
Rescue Boat Roster
 
Rosters will be developed after Registration Day on 21 September. All rostered rescue boat crews are required to attend a briefing on Saturday 11 October at 11:00am. For those who are new to the rescue boat scene, or who would like a refresher, the Club will be conducting a training program on Sunday 12 October from 10:00 to 13:00.

Canteen Roster
 
Canteen Co-ordinator Al Meyer will need some Assistant Co-ordinators for the coming season. So far we have received support from one family, but at least one more would be good. Please reply to this email if you are able to assist.
